SURVEY ANALYSIS

Survey Analysis
From the survey, we was able to recognise trends in the data. In the industry, this would be used as market research so film companies and institutions would know what film would be most in demand. We used a survey to find out what people want and what they would expect from a film. We also utilised the survey to consolidate our ideas and preferences; if an idea we had got chosen more than the others, we would know it is a good concept and would be in demand by the audience.

Question one:- In a film, what entices you more?

From this chart, you can see people prefer psychological horror and jump scares in a film to things like gore and drug use. From this response, we should look to include the following aspects to ensure our film would be well received by an audience. Some responses chose the "other" option- these were as followed:

"Being trapped and sound that creates tension, scary animals/beasts/creatures"

Question two:- What gender would you prefer a protagonist to be?

From this, the most popular choice was a female protagonist, therefore we will include a female to be our main character.

Question three:- What gender would you prefer an antagonist to be?

From this, the most popular choice was a male antagonist, therefore we will include a male to be our main villain.

Question four:- How often do you watch a thriller movie?

This gives us an idea how popular thriller films are in general, as this is our preferred genre. As it is a well watched genre, we can hypothesise that it would be in demand.

Question five:- Would you watch a horror film thats based on a farm?

Our preferred setting was a farm, these results show us that this would be liked by an audience

Question six:- How much gore can you handle?

As the goriest options have been chosen, this suggests the market have a solid stomach for gore. This will allow us to have unlimited access to gore and SFX. We must still keep in mind the chosen rating of our film

Question seven:- Would you choose to watch a film with a chase scene?

This shows we can include a chase seen and people would want to watch the film we produce.

Question eight:- what costume would you prefer an antagonist to be wearing?

<-- Khaki combat trousers, black knee-high wellington boots, dark long raincoat and a flat cap.

<-- Denim dungarees, checked shirt, combat boots and a stockman hat

These results will overall determine what we will dress our main antagonist in. We decided the best look would be farmer inspires. The popularity of the first choice indicated people prefer a more "classy" look to our farmer antagonist. We may change the garment aspects, but we will keep the overall style to be neat.

Question nine:- what costume would you prefer a protagonist to be wearing?

<-- Ripped jeans, black hoodie and trainers with hair down and natural makeup.

<-- T-shirt dress with pumps and hair up

<-- Leather jacket with a short skirt and plain vest top, crazy hairdo and over the top makeup.

The results suggest that the audience would prefer more of a rugged look to the protagonist. We will take this forward, but will add more of a promiscuous style to the girl, as this would make our film more interesting.
